Centre of the Universe

What is in the centre of the universe?

No – not a black hole or a super sun,

or any other heavenly body.

Wherever you are,

Whoever you are,

whenever it is,

as long as you are unenlightened,

the centre of the universe will always be you.

For the entire infinite world ”revolves” around your unelightened egocentric ‘’self” – your world of selfishness full of ‘I’ , ” me”, ”my” and ”mine”.

The enlightened, on the other hand, is that of selflessness, who are one and at peace with the unbounded centre-less Universe.

Immersed in the here and now

- Running may offer the greatest relief from everyday cares, for when thrusting and fighting for every metre, you are immersed in the here and now. There is no room for much thought save for the task at hand. -

Just ran 4KM at bedok reservoir with Freddy. My first training run after lazing for so many months.

4 days ago was the Trilympics ‘Around The World In Just 1 Day’  held at Toa Payoh Stadium. From 1pm on sat to 1pm on sun, participants try to clock in as much mileage as possible on the track or on spinning bikes. A 24hrs event. It was a wonderful Community Service Project where I can run! And for charity! So I manage to run 50 laps ( 20km = half marathon), and spin about 13 miles( 21km).

Thoughts about ‘The Dark Knight’

If there was a movie that deserves more than 5 stars, this is it.

Standing out from the cornucopia of hollywood superheroes blockbusters, this is a shining knight in armour. The two and a half hour cinematic experience is nothing short of a ride into the deepest recesses of the human psyche.

Writer-director Christopher Nolan weaves deftly a motion picture so powerful yet subtle that viewers are totally gripped in their senses from the beginning to the end. The story-telling ingenuity of Christopher Nolan gives his movie a ’storybook’ feel, with a flow so smooth and impeccable like one is flipping through pages in a book. Dotted and infused with climaxes, philosophical dialogue and unexpected twists, and a strong social-political message that seeps across to viewers, The Dark Knight makes you wonder. It begs you to think.
